Research Associate

Marketing Workshop - Research Associate

Overview

Marketing Workshop’s Research Associates are responsible for assisting Research Managers in the management and execution of custom, primary marketing research, and supporting key functions across the organization. The position provides a variety of critical contributions to the Marketing Workshop team at large and requires tactical, strategic, and interpersonal skills.  A Marketing Workshop Research Associate is competent with and possesses the enthusiasm for detailed project management and executional excellence. Being a good fit for the role requires being team oriented, hard wired for superior client service, willing to do what it takes to get the job done, and ingenuity to overcome obstacles.  This position affords the opportunity to develop broad skills relative to all aspects of marketing research and is designed for one who is ambitious and promotable.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Background within supplier side custom research organization, up to 2 years a plus
    • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Experience within a fast-paced environment and willing to assist as needed due to shifting priorities

    • Excellent organization and maintenance of project files and databases
    • Ensures that each project stays on schedule while adhering to Marketing Workshop quality standards
    • Source and manage sample and field facilities, along with maintaining providers data base
    • Field coordination and execution management including creation of project guiding documents
    • Assist in research results reporting through the creation of charts, tables, and other report inputs
    • Proof and edit documents and reports, quality control checking of data, and testing of online surveys
    • Conventional hours usually, with ocassional extended time commitments, and ocassional travel

Overview

Marketing Workshop’s Research Managers are responsible for the development and execution of  diverse custom, primary marketing research projects. The position provides critical contributions to the organization at large and requires strategic,  technical and tactical skills. The position calls for a well-rounded marketing-minded, investigative and enthusiastic researcher. To be a fit, one must be entrepreneurially spirited, corporate arena savvy, hard wired for superior client service, and thrive on collaboration.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Supplier side custom research, minimum of 2 years, with client side experience a plus
    • Working proficiency with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
    • Working understanding of analytic techniques and appropriate applications
    • Effective consultant across internal and client teams
    • Data visualization and strategic report developer
    • Refined presenter
    • Experience within a fast-paced deadline oriented environment

    • Consult with clients about their research findings and lend added value at every opportunity
    • Investigative, resourceful and diligent about becoming intimate with client's business

Position Overview

This is an important role to Marketing Workshop’s growth strategies. While there are specific accountabilities that must be fulfilled, the position requires a flexible willingness to support Marketing Workshop in any way that may bring benefit to our organization at large.  We are an entrepreneurial-minded organization of the size and business model that engages every team member without bounds.

This position is designed for the professional that seeks to consistently have a positive impact on their organization and the client organizations served. Contributions entail executive level strategic and logistic activities, with a primary focus on growing awareness for Marketing Workshop and developing new business for via networking, forging new relationships, and other intuitive means of generating new client interest.

A good fit candidate will be philosophically aligned with relationship-based account development and management, comfortable with being actively and consistently involved with clients in person and through communications.

Growing and enriching existing accounts is also an accountability including identifying and presenting new solutions to expand these account.

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree is desired, but not required.  Most important is relevant experience and a proven, demonstrated ability to successfully acquire new business.  An MBA is a plus.

Industry Experience

5 to 10 years Business Development experience in the Marketing Research industry
